Thanksgiving 2011
It came and went. Even though there are so many things to be thankful for every day, for some reason, the holidays just seem to really place them in the forefront of my thoughts,
I’m very thankful for the friends I’ve made, relationships built, successes, and failures throughout this past year. Honestly, I don’t know if anything that bad actually happened to me this year, it always seems that those occasions get forgotten, cause in perspective, it wasn’t really all that bad.
I’m grateful for the busyness that surrounds Thanksgiving day with the eating, and the board game playing, and British accent bantering, and the “wow you’re so loud” laughing.
I’m even more grateful for the day after, with the peacefulness of an empty college town; the feeling of wake up at 11am and still get all your Black Friday shopping done online anyways; the quietness that allows you to get work done; the witnessing of your college quarterback improving, giving you hope for next season.
Having time to reflect is a blessing in itself. I’m just amazed at all of this.
